Position Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to designated patient populations with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. This position requires advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations, perform independent professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation, including establishment of therapy and treatment objectives, and review of care based on age and needs of the patient. The position operates independently under limited supervision. Internal contacts include patient care staff and management. External contacts include patients, families, physicians, outside health care providers, and other organizations.
Requirements
Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Training program
Registered (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care
Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the State of Washington
Registry eligibility notice to sit for RRT exam from NBRC required
Advanced cardiac life support credential required within 90 days of hire depending on age of population served: ACLS, NRP, PALS
Health Care Provider level CPR certification
Minimum one (1) year of acute care experience in the field of respiratory therapy and critical care (CRT preferred)
Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum education qualifications.
