You'll be administering allergy tests and injections, providing exceptional support during in-office procedures, and assisting with front-office administrative tasks. Clinic Schedule & Hours
This is a PRN (as-needed) position supporting clinics in the Corpus Christi and Rockport areas. Scheduling may occur Monday through Friday, with hours varying based on clinic demand. Coverage is most commonly needed on Mondays and Thursdays, with the potential for additional days as needed. When scheduled, this role requires availability from 7:50 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Clinic operating hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
What You'll Be Doing
Escorting patients to exam room; obtaining vitals, past/present medical history, and current medication list
Effectively communicating allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients
Administering subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections
Conducting thorough and accurate spirometry testing
Performing all testing and treatment in accordance with Aspire Allergy’s protocols and safety measures
Navigating EHR system to record accurate patient health information
Serving patients & visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately
Assisting in answering incoming and outgoing phone calls and providing accurate information
Tracking clinical inventory and resupply when needed
Ensuring all of end of day reports and logs are accurate and complete
Following all HIPAA rules and regulations including confidentiality of patient information
Adhering to Aspire Allergy’s protocols and safety measures
Adhering to OSHA requirements including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines
Willingness to be cross‑trained in a variety of both front and back‑office duties to provide full cycle clinic support. Front office duties include, but are not limited to:
Proficiency in the Practice Management side of our Electronic Health Record.
Obtaining CT authorizations.
Scanning patient documents and medical records and attaching them to charts.
Checking patients in, including obtaining correct information such as demographics, PCP, contact and insurance information.
Checking patients out, including taking payment.
Communicating an Out of Pocket Max for a patient.
Sending End of Day emails to appropriate parties.
Scheduling patient appointments.
Enrolling patients in treatment of choice.
Requirements
Basic knowledge of medical terminology
Exceptional customer service skills
Effective and clear communication skills
Ability to administer subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections
Manual vital signs measurement
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
Ability to react calmly and effectively in a difficult or emergent situation
Capabilities for prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, balance with full range of body motion including handling and lifting up to 20 lbs
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer/keyboard at 50 wpm, calculator, telephone, copier, and fax
Ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between clinics
Required education and experience
Valid driver's license
Preferred education and experience
Completed Medical Assistant Program or Degree
1+ Years of Medical Assistant Experience
1+ Years of Medical Receptionist Experience
Medical Assistant Certificate, vocational nurse license or related experience
Current CPR Certification
