Position Summary

Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The role ensures a safe environment by identifying and addressing safety principles for patients, visitors, and employees. The assistant provides patient care tasks and administrative duties, objectively assesses situations, considers alternatives, assists in realistic action plans, evaluates outcomes, and follows department and system policies and procedures. They are productive and efficient in daily operations, using appropriate resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible.
Education
High School Diploma
Certification Requirements
Certified Medical Assistant
Registered Medical Assistant
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
Certified EMT (EMT‑B, AEMT, or Paramedic)
BLS within 90 days of hire date
Experience
Less than a year of related experience.
