About Slate
At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.
Who We Are Looking For
Slate Chassis Engineering is looking for a college student with a hands‑on problem‑solving approach, an interest in chassis design and its effects on vehicle dynamics, and an interest in working with chassis engineers to help bring the Slate truck to production.
What You Get To Do
Navigate and use our issue management system, called Polarian.
Manage and update Polarian issues (chassis open issues), coordinating with the chassis design release engineering team.
Transfer DFMEA and DVP documents, tasks, subtasks and test results into the Polarian system.
Coordinate part shipments and logistics for beta vehicles, lab and vehicle testing parts, etc.
Assist with vehicle and part shipments for vehicle testing.
What You Bring to the Team
Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in electrical, mechanical, or automotive engineering.
Ability to work full time (40 hours per week).
Minimum 3.0 GPA and a hands‑on approach to work and problem solving.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite; Catia and PLM skills are a plus.
A sense of urgency: when things need to be done or problems arise, you recognize it and immediately seek solutions.
A team approach: you’re bold enough to reach out and interact with engineers of all backgrounds, ages, and specialties to get the most out of your experience and help Slate succeed.
