
Behavioral Health Nurse Manager

St. Mary's Regional Medical Center/Universal Health Services is seeking a Nurse Manager to work on the inpatient psychiatric unit in Enid, OK. The unit has 15 beds and serves adult psychiatric patients. The Nurse Manager plans, implements, and evaluates overall nursing care delivery. He/she provides managerial support, supervises and evaluates all nursing and patient care personnel, and contributes to the facility by meeting nursing goals, supervising clinical staff, and participating on treatment teams.
Responsibilities
Assesses and provides department with the appropriate Staffing-to-Demand within the area utilizing tools to measure, track, monitor and report the facility department processes. Measured through productivity and management documentation.
Puts safety first for employees; ensures compliance with OSHA, Infection Control and Environment of Care requirements. Measured by knowledge of staff through safety rounds and workers’ compensation claims, etc.
Responsible for complying with St. Mary's hiring procedure and ensures that interviews are completed timely. Measured by vacancy rate and time-to-fill position.
Provides timely feedback to new hires through the 90-day evaluation. Provides intermittent feedback to staff on performance along with annual performance evaluations. Measured by 100% complete timely.
Assesses current staff educational needs. Develops structures and processes within the department to improve employee knowledge, skills and abilities. Utilizes best practices to positively impact staff education and competencies. Measured through competency documentation and education plan.
Takes specific steps to create a positive work environment for self and others to impact employee satisfaction. Actively and effectively “manages up” and communicates successes. Demonstrates creativity and consistency in recognizing and rewarding staff. Measured through staff satisfaction and turnover.
Holds self and others accountable for actions and achieving desired outcomes. Facilitates sharing of ideas, strategies, and tactics to achieve departmental facility targets. Collaborates with Corporate and Facility leaders in completion of all initiatives.
Responsible for monitoring financial performance and cost reductions for areas of responsibility. Also develops the operations and capital budget. Measured through monthly reports and budgets.
Demonstrates commitment to excellence. Identifies and implements new, or cutting‑edge programs, processes and/or approaches in area of responsibility that improve organizational efficiency, outcomes, and performance. Utilizes best practices in developing Quality initiatives. Ensures that areas of responsibility are in constant state of regulatory readiness. Complies with organization/department policies and procedures; takes initiative to update/change as necessary. Measured through value‑based purchasing, HCAHPS, policies, etc.
Responsible for assuring that areas assigned meet State, CMS, TJC, NQSF, and other regulatory requirements.
Position Summary
Responsible for hiring, developing, and managing nursing personnel in rendering patient care for assigned areas that include the Behavioral Health unit. Duties include assuring compliance with regulatory agencies; assisting with budget processes, marketing services, identifying learning needs, ensuring competency and delivering quality and cost‑effective care. May work staff nurse when needed. Performs all duties in accord with the mission, vision, and values of St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Qualifications
Current RN licensure in State of Oklahoma.
BSN required.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates skills as a leader/supervisor and ability to make decisions without direct supervision.
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) required.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to multitask.
Strong data analysis skills.
Two (2) to four (4) years of Behavioral Healthcare experience required.
BLS is required.
