Job Description
The Radiologic Technologist Hospital reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post‑procedure care.
Produces diagnostic‑quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow‑up through established service processes.
Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time‑sensitive studies.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set‑up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
Consistently upholds all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, infection prevention measures and safe practices (as applicable to the role) to protect self, patients, visitors and team members.
Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery.
Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, and growth.
Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography (R).
Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation.
Basic Life Support (BLS).
