
Pharmacy Technician I

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is a nationally recognized health care organization. We are hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy team.
Summary
Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information to process prescriptions. Assists pharmacists in performing technical duties related to the distribution of drugs to patients, monitors medication inventory, places orders to restock, prepares labels, calculates quantities, composes sterile and non‑sterile products, and other pharmacy tasks.
Job Duties
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription orders.
Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulations.
Fill medication orders accurately and efficiently.
Ensure all medications are properly labeled, checked by a pharmacist, and dispensed timely.
Prioritize workload, maintain organization, and coordinate activities with other team members.
Monitor medication expiration dates and ensure no expired medications are in circulation.
Comply with record‑keeping for controlled substances and maintain inventories.
Communicate drug information requests to a pharmacist.
Maintain competency with pharmacy equipment and duties.
Answer phones and attend to customer needs promptly.
Assist with orientation and training of new pharmacy colleagues.
Maintain adequate inventory of prescription and over‑the‑counter products in designated areas.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Good math skills for counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of inventory control.
Knowledge of brand name and generic medications.
Experience using pharmacy automation.
Certified Pharmacy Technician – state of Pennsylvania (CPhT).
Physical Demands
Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, and keyboard use. Some roles may require kneeling, bending, squatting, or CPR performance.
