Position Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) on a 30‑bed Acute In‑patient Management (IMC) unit caring for a diverse, acutely ill population. The RN collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, documents care, administers medication, and advocates for patients.

Unit Overview

30‑bed unit with complex specialties and high‑acuity patients.

Negative‑pressure rooms, patient lift assistance in all rooms.

On‑site nurse educator; Acute/Critical Care course for new providers.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient‑centered care.

Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patients.

Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.

Administer medications, provide education, and monitor for efficacy and side effects.

Assess, monitor, report, and record patient condition and pertinent changes.

Design, implement, and evaluate patient nursing care plans with the healthcare team.

Educate patients and families throughout the stay and in preparing for discharge.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred). If BSN/MSN not held on hire, must sign agreement to obtain within a specified timeframe.

Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or a Compact state as a Registered Nurse.

BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

At least 1 year of acute‑care nursing experience.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

BSN or MSN.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $38.92 – $55.68 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education.

New hire retention bonus of $6,500 for external applicants.
