Summary
Receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with registering patients for services.
Responsibilities
Meet with patients and/or caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation, provide explanations of visit, instructions, and address concerns and questions.
Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre‑certification/authorization as necessary.
Escort and transport patients and visitors within the facility, which may include a wheelchair or oxygen tank.
Determine and accept required payments, including co‑pays and deductibles, or refer to financial counselors for follow‑up; ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is entered accurately and promptly in the registration system.
Apply critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision; work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action as required.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
