We’re hiring a Bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish/English) to join our dermatology team in Tampa, FL (Town & Country). This full‑time Medical Assistant position supports both general and cosmetic dermatology and works closely with providers to deliver high‑quality patient care. Monday – Thursday | 7:00 AM – 5:30/6:00 PM

Responsibilities
Room patients, collect medical history, and enter intake details and vital signs accurately into the EMR
Help manage patient flow throughout the day to keep providers on schedule
Set up procedure trays, instruments, and equipment based on provider preferences and clinic protocols
Assist providers with dermatologic procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and other in‑office treatments
Handle pathology and lab specimens, including proper labeling and routing according to insurance requirements
Support the administration of local anesthetics as directed by the provider
Address patient questions both in person and over the phone, escalating clinical concerns when appropriate
Manage daily clinical communications including task lists, nurse line messages, voicemails, faxes, and internal requests
Document patient interactions and assist with scribing provider notes in the EMR when needed
Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control guidelines
Monitor inventory levels, remove expired supplies, and keep accurate records of medications and materials
Order and restock clinical supplies to ensure exam rooms and storage areas are fully prepared
Conduct follow‑up outreach for pathology results, document communication, and coordinate next steps per provider direction
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and protect patient confidentiality at all times
Support overall clinic operations by assisting with additional responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
Ability to assess and triage patient concerns appropriately within scope
Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Bloodborne Pathogen standards
Experience obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for clinical visits
Experience administering injections in a clinical setting
Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD‑10 coding
Understanding of basic office procedures, including financial and billing policies
Comfortable using EMR systems and basic computer applications
Ability to operate standard office equipment (computer, fax, copier, scanner, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Fluent in English; bilingual Spanish preferred/required
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume clinical environment
Works well with providers, staff, patients, and visitors in a professional and team‑oriented manner
Willingness to travel to additional clinic locations as needed
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately
Detail‑oriented with the ability to organize and file information alphabetically and numerically
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Completion of a Medical Assistant program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, or a bachelor’s degree in a pre‑med or pre‑physician assistant track preferred
CPR certification preferred
1–2 years of recent experience in a Medical Assistant, CNA, or similar patient care role preferred
Dermatology experience is a plus, but not required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
Frequent movement including bending, reaching, twisting, and maintaining balance
Regular use of hands and fingers for clinical and administrative tasks
Ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone (speaking and listening)
Handling of clinic materials, supplies, and equipment
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
Exposure to clinical environments, including potential contact with infectious materials, chemicals, and sharp instruments
