Job Summary – Nurse Assistant Training Program

Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. Provides basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff. During clinical rotation, performs duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens, and other duties within scope of practice. Obtains information on patient condition and reports any changes to nursing staff or clinical educator. At the end of training, a competency assessment validates learning.

Nurse Assistants and Nurse Assistant Trainees are eligible to apply.

Qualifications

Education:

Preferred – High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience:

Preferred – Prior patient care or health care related experience. For permanent Nurse Assistant positions, required – 3 months experience as nursing assistant, EMT, or surgical technologist in the past 3 years or completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years.
Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication; strong time‑management and problem‑solving abilities; flexibility to work in a multi‑tasking environment; reliable completion of job tasks.
Licensure/Certification:

BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
