Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Physical Therapy Assistant at HCA Healthcare, you’ll improve the lives of patients by providing individualized care that restores mobility and independence. Responsibilities
Conduct patient education, including post‑care planning, proper use of supportive devices and equipment, and gait and functional training.
Record, monitor, analyze, and review clinical data; provide feedback to therapists regarding possible modifications to treatment plans and goals based on patient performance.
Adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet the needs of each patient.
Collaborate with patient service departments and community service agencies to coordinate and conduct educational outreach programs and learning activities.
Deliver therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility.
Apply physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function.
Monitor patient progress and document responses to ensure safe, effective care.
Teach patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs.
Work closely with PTs, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience and support a culture of excellence.
Requirements
Associate of Science (A.S.) degree or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
Experience in an appropriate healthcare setting preferred.
Current state of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license.
Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) required.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA).
Critical thinking, adaptability, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to read, comprehend written instructions, and follow verbal and written instructions; PC skills.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
Additional Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
(LPTA) Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
Associate Degree.
No Travel Required
This position does not require travel.
