GMV is seeking an intern to join our team and contribute to the advancement of next‑generation flight space projects, with a strong focus on
digital embedded SoC technologies
and innovative avionics for the space segment. In this role, you will support cutting‑edge on‑board developments for upcoming ESA missions as well as commercial space customers. As part of our
Space Avionics and Equipment division , you will play an integral role in developing projects and products while actively contributing to our R&D activities.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?
As an intern, you will take on technically ambitious and forward‑looking responsibilities that contribute directly to our next‑generation space avionics developments. You will be involved in:
Co‑designing and developing
embedded software
for new space‑grade
System‑on‑Chip platforms , including heterogeneous processing architectures, adaptive computing acceleration platforms, VPUs, low‑power GPUs, TPUs, and other novel computing technologies.
Collaborating on
Model‑Based Design workflows
and supporting deployments on many‑core heterogeneous devices used in space avionics.
Designing and implementing heterogeneous computing systems based on
RISC‑V and SPARC architectures
tailored for aerospace applications.
Exploring and implementing embedded machine‑learning inference acceleration, leveraging both digital and mixed analog‑digital accelerator technologies.
Engaging in rapid prototyping workflows for
Software‑Defined Radio (SDR)
and
Neural Network‑based applications , optimized for heterogeneous architectures intended for space use.
DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF OUR TEAM?
.We are looking for a motivated intern who brings a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in cutting‑edge space technologies. The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s studies in
Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering , or a related field, preferably with
a focus on programmable digital HW/SW systems.
Proficiency in digital hardware design and development
Experience working with
FPGAs and System‑on‑Chip (SoC) platforms , as well asexposure to real‑time operating systems.
Familiarity with
space‑segment technologies
and an interest in
aerospace‑related projects or standards.
Background in
Model‑Based Design,
multicore architectures, and heterogeneous system design involving
RISC‑V and SPARC processors.
Hands‑on experience with
adaptive embedded software
and exposure to
neural‑network‑based projects
or
machine‑learning workflows.
The following skills are not mandatory but will be considered a
strong plus
and will enhance your ability to contribute to our
advanced space‑avionics
developments:
Experience with
RTEMS and TSP hypervisors
for real‑time and partitioned embedded systems.
Understanding of fault‑tolerant design principles from mission‑critical aerospace applications.
Knowledge of
machine‑learning inference techniques , including DNNs, CNNs, and SNNs, deployed on embedded or resource‑constrained platforms.
Familiarity with
computer‑vision algorithms
and their implementation in embedded environments.
Awareness of
ECSS standards
and their relevance to space‑segment engineering practices.
Exposure to
formal verification methods
for ensuring correctness and reliability in hardware and software systems.
