With 100+ locations and over 400 OB/GYNs and specialists across the country, Women’s Care provides comprehensive patient care in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, gynecologic pathology, breast surgery, genetics counseling, maternal fetal medicine, laboratory services, and fertility.
The Billing Lead is responsible for the financial oversight and patient payments for the unit.
Responsibilities
Verifies patient benefits via phone and internet.
Conducts billing for various visit types/procedures using appropriate CPT/ICD coding.
Documents and updates information in patient's electronic medical record.
Contacts patient to obtain insurance information.
Performs charge entry and posting.
Collects current amount due and prior balances from patients at the time of service.
Monitors billing-related reports and works to ensure those reports are acted upon appropriately according to the direction of the Practice Manager and the organization.
Assists in monthly financial close operations for the unit.
Responsible for the oversight of denials management and following company protocols on follow up processes.
Acts as the subject matter expert over billing for the unit. Trains and coaches teammates as needed.
Represents the clinic in a professional manner at all times.
Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3-5 years medical billing experience in medical office environment, OBGYN preferred.
Working knowledge of billing/insurance processes and guidelines.
Ability to multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers and patients in an effective manner.
Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, preferably eClinicalWorks.
Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
