Residential Aide – Glendive
Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center is hiring a Full‑Time Residential Aide for our Glendive Group Home.
In this role, you’ll provide evening and weekend support to residents, helping maintain a safe, supportive, and home‑like environment. You’ll work directly with individuals living with severe mental illness, offering supervision, encouragement, and daily living assistance that promotes stability and independence.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
Is compassionate, patient, and dependable
Can work effectively with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
Is comfortable working evenings and weekends
Salary: $16.75 – $19.75 per hour plus $2 per hour weekend shift differential.

Residential Aide (Home and Community Based Services)
Primary Objective of Position
Under general supervision, is responsible for the evening and weekend oversight of clients in their group home living; work varies requiring individual judgment within clearly defined policies.
Shift Schedule
Weekday shift: 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm, 11:00 pm – 7:00 am.
Weekend shift: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm, 11:00 pm – 7:00 am.
*Daytime shifts are double staffed.
Physical Requirements
Lifting up to 25 lb (greater with assistance), stairs, bending, stooping, prolonged sitting, and ability to get in and out of a vehicle without assistance.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Experience working with individuals suffering severe mental illness.
Travel may be required, with exposure to inclement weather and household chemicals.
Must complete Credible EHR functionality and overview training within the first month and stay current on all new features.
Must participate in HIPAA, MANDT, and CPR training within the first three months.
Must possess a valid Montana Operator’s License; if personal vehicle is used for transporting clients, vehicle must have insurance covering passengers.
Major Areas of Accountability and Performance
Follow treatment plans developed by the therapist and Lead Clinician.
Assist in maintaining a safe “home‑like” environment.
Participate in the training of new employees.
Welcome new residents and their families to the group home.
Maintain good work relationships among all Mental Health Center staff.
Maintain professional relationships with the community and local health care professionals.
Maintain professional confidentiality.
Document behaviors that need to be reported to other employees and to the Director.
Chart AGH weekly reports on assigned shift, record medication taking in eMAR on the Credible system, and keep all resident medication in the locked drawer.
Share rotation of “on‑call” crisis line duties.
Perform all listed daily duties and any other duties assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience Requirements
High School graduation or equivalent, with education or experience in public or mental health fields.
Computer skills.
Complete Credible EHR training within the first month and maintain certification.
Participate in HIPAA, MANDT, and CPR training within the first three months and maintain certifications.
Valid Montana Driver’s License; if personal vehicle is used for client transport, vehicle must have insurance covering passengers.
Performance Criteria and Expectations
Attend all monthly group home staff meetings.
Participate in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and general house upkeep.
Be a role model for residents, maintain and/or improve Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
Keep accurate and thorough records of residents and events at the group home.
