Job Summary
Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Regional Safety Coordinator. In this role you will be responsible for performing construction safety services in a professional manner resulting in no injuries, successful project completions, and a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute health and safety plans according to corporate and legal guidelines.

Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.

Evaluate practices, procedures, facilities to assess risk and adherence to corporate policy and law.

Ensure compliance with health and safety laws for all company members.

Identify hazards, improve conditions, and execute safety programs; communicate guidelines to multidisciplinary workforce.

Ensure workplace meets legal expectations and supports occupational health and safety.

Conduct training and presentations on health and safety and accident prevention.

Monitor compliance by inspecting employees and operations.

Inspect equipment and machinery for unsafe conditions.

Investigate accidents/incidents, discover causes, and handle workers’ compensation claims.

Recommend solutions for issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.

Report health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.

Prepare job-specific safety procedures and inspect job safety.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in safety management or relevant field preferred.

5 years of construction safety experience or 10 years of construction work experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Proven experience as a safety manager.

Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.

Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.

Proficiency in data analysis and risk assessment.

Excellent organizational and motivational skills.

Outstanding attention to detail and observational ability.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Valid qualifications/certifications in occupational health and safety.

Ability to travel.

Regular and reliable attendance, including extended hours and weekends as required.
