
Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park Seasonal Historical Cultural Interpreter

Duties and Tasks
Research, prepare, develop, and present accurate informational programs and hands‑on activities to general audiences and special interest groups (e.g., school, scout, youth, adult) surrounding natural, historical, and cultural facilities and resources.
Assist with special events, festivals, and outreach programs.
Engage with visitors in a friendly and professional manner to enhance their visit and experience.
Design educational materials, including brochures and social media content.
Provide visitor center/museum visitor engagement and gift shop retail services.
Support park team members with general operations as needed.
Because ND State Parks are open 24/7, employees may be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Clear communication skills for instructions, directions, and information to people of all ages, interests, viewpoints, and backgrounds.
Ability to conduct historical programs/activities/tours in a variety of terrain, indoor/outdoor, weather, and lighting conditions, sometimes in period uniform.
Willingness to wear a provided uniform.
Pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Training or experience in communication, science, history, education, and/or interpretive fields.
