Current Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Certification for full time officer, plus two years’ experience (or 4160 hours equivalent) in the field (municipal or township police officer, deputy sheriff, university police officer, Ohio State Patrol Officer, or Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority Police Officer). (5 points)
Current Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Certification without experience. (2 points)
Honorably discharged veteran having served at least one continuous year of active military service in the Armed Forces of the United States. (5 points)
Documentation to receive additional credit must be submitted with the Civil Service application.

Probationary $65,156 base annual salary / $31.32 Hourly Rate
After 1 year $70,975 base annual salary / $34.12 Hourly Rate
After 2 years $80,038 base annual salary / $38.48 Hourly Rate
After 3 years $90,724 base annual salary / $43.62 Hourly Rate
