
SANITATION TECH 1st shift

Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and experienced sanitation tech to provide contract sanitation services at large food manufacturing facilities. The role involves using wet and dry cleaning methods to clean production lines, silos, shipping areas, and other areas of the facility, including manufacturing equipment, machinery, offices, canteen, and bathrooms. Responsibilities
Perform all tasks assigned based on ABM Sanitation Program.
Follow all food safety and safety guidelines.
Disassemble, clean/sanitize, and reassemble equipment.
Accurately and safely clean equipment areas or perform periodic work.
Sweep, mop, and maintain offices, restrooms, lunchrooms, and surrounding areas.
Use the Master Cleaning Schedule and ensure implementation of correct procedures in all tasks.
Work with leadership to maintain plant procedures and operations guidelines, ensuring compliance with food laws and labeling requirements.
Use appropriate cleaners and sanitizers for all food processing equipment and plant facilities.
Perform daily self‑inspection systems and techniques to monitor sanitation issues with all equipment.
Inspect work prior to it being checked by lead.
Be knowledgeable about the Lock‑out‑Tag-out Safety program.
Help train new employees or employees who change job classifications.
Report all equipment problems to leadership or supervisor immediately.
Communicate all matters relating to safety and health and positively promote safety in operations.
Understand and follow all general and specific safe job procedures that apply.
Plan and carry out job assignments without creating hazards for yourself and other employees.
Work in confined spaces while following confined space protocols where applicable.
Work in all conditions, including wet, humid, hot, and cold.
Work at all heights within the facility.
Learn and use industrial equipment such as scissor lift, boom lift, and floor scrubber.
Maintain a flexible work schedule; the schedule may change periodically throughout the week.
Come to work on time, ready to work, and work all scheduled hours each day.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.
No experience required; on‑the‑job training will be provided.
No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior food plant sanitation or related experience, preferably in a food manufacturing facility.
At least one year of similar work experience.
