Job Summary
The Research Assistant performs a variety of accurate laboratory and clinical data collection, measurement, entry and retrieval procedures in a research setting involving human and/or small animal subjects, completes forms relevant to research and related equipment. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience
Bachelor Degree required. Minimum two years of academic laboratory experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Medical terminology (preferred)
Statistical, database and graphic applications (preferred)
Keyboard 40 wpm
Read, write legibly, speak in English with professional quality
Use computer, printer, and software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment as required
Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction
Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision.
Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary for the position.
Licenses and Certifications
Required to complete and maintain Loma Linda University Human Studies Education and satisfactory completion of required IACUC-Animal Care and Use Training Program and Radiation Safety Training (if applicable) within 30 days of hire and through Animal Care Facility. x44316 or https://www.llu.edu/research-affairs/human-studies-certification-online-options.page.
