Math Teachers at KIPP Public Schools Northern California bring the school’s academic and cultural vision to life by designing engaging lessons, guiding instruction with data, and creating an inclusive classroom. Teachers integrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Restorative Practices, build a joyful and safe community, collaborate closely with the Leadership Team and Instructional Coach, and commit to ongoing reflection on equity, anti‑racism, identity, and systemic impact.

Essential Responsibilities

Develop and implement daily and long‑term lesson plans aligned with KIPP’s academic vision.

Analyze student data regularly to inform instruction and support student growth.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and rigorous classroom environment grounded in Restorative Practices and SEL.

Use culturally responsive classroom management strategies to ensure safety, belonging, and high expectations for all students.

Communicate proactively with families, colleagues, and leaders to build strong partnerships.

Engage fully in weekly professional development and Communities of Practice.

Maintain accurate and timely records, including attendance, grades, and behavior data.

Qualifications
Experience teaching students with demographics similar to KIPP Northern California is preferred.

Education & Certification

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (required).

Meet one of the following eligibility requirements (required):

Hold a valid teaching credential in the subject of your desired role.

Be eligible for a General Education Limited Assignment Permit, Provisional Internship Permit, or Short Term Staff Permit (CPR certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross is a prerequisite for this permit).
