
Graduate Assistant Swim Coach

Overview
The Graduate Assistant Coach for Men's and Women’s Swimming will report to the Head Swim Coach and assist in all phases of the season. Assist the coaching staff with the organization and direction of all aspects of the NCAA Division II Swim team. This is a 2-year position starting Fall 2026 and concluding in Spring 2028.
Responsibilities
Assisting the head coach with planning and implementation of daily practices
Strength workout management
Recruitment of prospective student-athletes
Arranging team travel and post-trip reporting
NCAA compliance reporting
Team building and athletic development
Academic monitoring and fundraising events
Compensation and Benefits
Graduate assistants at Carson-Newman University will receive full tuition and fees as well as a monthly stipend. Graduate assistants must maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout the assistantship to maintain the financial package. Please reference the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at www.cn.edu.

Qualifications / Preferred
Competitive swimming experience at the collegiate level (previous coaching experience desirable)
Bachelor’s degree and must be accepted into one of our graduate programs
lifeguard, CPR, First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain them prior to arrival on campus
Valid driver’s license
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
