Key Responsiblities & Accountabilities
The Entry-Level Lab Technician of INEOS KOH performs basic wet chemistry testing, such as pH, conductivity titrations, and gravimetric analysis. This role requires the use of instrumentation including densitomers, Mercury CVAA, and spectrophotometers. They are responsible for the preparation of normalization of reagents, as well as the certification and release of chemical shipments in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT).
In addition, the role is responsible for the calibration of laboratory equipment. One must be knowledgeable with using MS Word and MS Excel, maintaining data entry and keeping a detailed lab notebook. They will also use Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to complete analysis and will use basic algebra to complete stoichiometric calculations. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Level of education and Experience in general
High school diploma required
Technical or related degree preferred
Laboratory experience a plus
Ability to work day and night shifts
Skill in oral and written communications sufficient to clearly receive and convey information and ideas
Strong presentation skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional groups at multiple levels of the organization
Attention to detail
Organizational skills
All tasks require knowledge of key plant safety procedures and policies
Knowledge of IT skills (MS Office, SAP, Sharepoint, etc.)
Able to work with a sense of urgency
