Engineering & Technology Faculty (Full-Time)
Overview
The Business, Engineering, and Technology (BET) Division seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and student-centered full‑time faculty member to join the Engineering & Technology Department to teach in the field of Mechanical/Aerospace engineering. A Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required. The candidate of choice may be asked to teach some or all of the courses in the Engineering program.
The ideal candidate should be solutions‑oriented, have a passion for teaching, a growth mindset, and a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
The teaching load is 15 credits per semester. Release time may be available for course coordination. Faculty are expected to maintain at least five (5) office hours per week while class is in session and accept other responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Responsibilities
Teach courses in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering.
Teach day or evening courses across modalities (hybrid, face‑to‑face, online, and accelerated 7‑week, 10‑week, 15‑week formats).
Coordinate Engineering courses, participate in enrollment management, and support and coach adjunct faculty.
Prepare syllabi and Canvas sites.
Develop and update course materials.
Participate in program management and learning outcome assessment initiatives.
Work collaboratively with faculty, course coordinators, and staff to implement departmental programs.
Provide service to department, division, and college.
Attend and actively participate in meetings; keep informed.
Respond promptly to requests for information and assistance from students and administrators.
Participate in commencement ceremonies and other institutional events.
Pursue teaching improvement and professional development.
Work cooperatively, respectfully, and effectively with peers, staff, and administrators; use appropriate communication channels.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Three years professional experience in engineering and technology.
Prior industry and/or field/laboratory experience.
Experience using a range of teaching and learning methods/pedagogies.
Success in creating inclusive learning environments.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to engage with diverse students, faculty, and staff.
Ability to work independently, collaboratively, flexibly, and take ownership and accountability.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; demonstrated ease with technology.
Excellence in oral and written communication.
Preferred:
Significant prior industry experience, teaching experience (community college preferred), advising student chapters, supervising student clubs/competitions.
