Job Description
AutoZone’s Store Management team drives store performance, fosters a productive team, and ensures exceptional customer service. Managers and Managers in Training (MITs) play a key leadership role, expected to Live The Pledge and deliver WOW! Customer Service while executing store operations with excellence. Under the Store Manager’s guidance, MITs lead by example, demonstrating initiative and strong leadership. Through operational oversight and team development, store management supports AutoZone’s mission of providing trusted automotive solutions.

The Manager in Training position is a transitional role designed to prepare you for promotion into a Retail Store Management position. With a focus on leadership training, customer service excellence, and operational expertise, you’ll receive hands‑on assignments and structured learning opportunities. Within 8‑12 weeks, you could progress into management—depending on your prior experience and performance. MITs must demonstrate consistent progression throughout the training program to be considered for promotion, which is performance‑based and subject to management availability.

Responsibilities

Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and cultivate a high‑performing, engaged store team.

Maintain clear and effective communication with employees and customers to drive store execution and performance.

Learn to manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements to optimize store profitability.

Support store operations, ensure compliance with policies, and uphold structured training processes.

Assist with staffing, mentoring, and training employees to develop a strong, successful team.

Take charge of customer service activities, ensuring outstanding experiences and resolving concerns proactively.

Oversee inventory accuracy, store merchandising, and sales strategies to maximize success.

Complete management skills training, learning key aspects of store operations and AutoZone culture.

Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years of prior experience as a retail manager or supervisor.

Full‑time flexible schedule availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Strong people skills and effective communication in both Spanish and English.

Previous experience in automotive retail or analyzing company financials (e.g., Profit & Loss statements) is a plus.
