
Manufacturing Process Technician

Job Description
Set-up and troubleshoot lining equipment to ensure efficient operation in order to meet production needs.
Responsibilities & Authorities
Maintenance and development of new tooling, machines, and other equipment.
Assist with maintaining older machines and equipment.
Assist in training mechanics and operators to ensure complete knowledge of process.
Research and install new technology to improve quality and productivity levels, including fiber‑optics, controls, PLC, vision systems, and drives.
Assist in managing shift operations.
Work with outside vendors, subcontracting machine shops, and sheet metal work.
Troubleshoot all electrical and PLC problems in the department.
Install sensor systems and diverters on machines to improve productivity.
Supervise hourly mechanics, assign work, and monitor productivity.
Perform any other assigned duties.
Comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF, and other regulatory requirements; report concerns that could impact these requirements or suggest areas for improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Good computer and software skills.
Ability to read and write PLC Ladder Logic.
Ability to read and write electrical schematics.
Knowledge of basic computer programming.
Excellent attendance and reliable work history.
Physical mobility: walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds periodically.
Ability to work safely in a production environment with moving mechanical parts and recognize various sounds and alarms.
Availability to work overtime as needed.
Salary & Incentives
Starting salary ranges from $29 to $34 per hour, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience. The position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan/Sales Incentive Plan, an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
