Green Expert Technology Inc. (GreenXT) is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the development, testing, maintenance, and lifecycle management of Auxiliary Seawater (ASW) systems for U.S. Navy surface ships, submarines, and carriers. The selected candidate will interface with U.S. Navy engineers, ship’s force personnel, OEMs, and program stakeholders to support system operation, troubleshooting, and modernization efforts. This role spans the full system lifecycle, including technical assistance in installation, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and sustainment of auxiliary seawater and associated fluid systems.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Perform shipboard testing, troubleshooting, and repair of auxiliary seawater systems, including pumps, valves, and associated controls.
Provide technical assistance and training to ship’s force during maintenance availabilities, INSURVs, and test events.
Support installation, alteration (SHIPALT), and overhaul activities for seawater and auxiliary fluid systems.
Develop and update test procedures, maintenance instructions, and troubleshooting guides for ASW systems and related equipment.
Execute and document system testing and validation, including data collection and reporting.
Assist in failure analysis and root‑cause investigations for system performance issues.
Support design reviews, drawing updates, and technical documentation for system upgrades and modifications.
Interface with Navy stakeholders and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and logistics feedback.
Support Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities, including parts tracking, documentation, and system configuration updates.
Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost efficiency.
Requirements
8+ years of relevant experience with U.S. Navy systems, commercial vessels, or shipyard environments.
Hands‑on experience with auxiliary seawater systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and piping systems, and shipboard mechanical or fluid systems.
Experience supporting shipboard maintenance, availabilities, or overhauls; and system testing and troubleshooting in operational environments.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and system schematics.
Active DoD Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain).
Willingness to travel up to ~10% and support shipboard work (pier side and at sea).
Ability to work onsite in labs, shipyards, or waterfront environments.
Desired Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge or practical familiarity with the following systems and support responsibilities:
Prior U.S. Navy experience (active duty or civilian) strongly preferred.
Experience with auxiliary seawater or cooling systems on naval or commercial vessels.
Familiarity with shipboard maintenance processes (CMP, SHIPALTs, availabilities) and Navy logistics and feedback systems (Remedy, EOSS/AFOSS, Technical Manuals).
PLC experience (programming, troubleshooting, or integration), especially with industrial control systems and pump/valve automation.
Working Conditions
The work is typically performed at the San Diego Navy Yard onboard U.S. Navy ships (pier side and at sea), requiring proper safety precautions and the ability to navigate shipboard stairways or ladders. Work may require some physical effort handling light materials, boxes, or equipment.
