About the Intensive Family Services (IFS) Program
Intensive Family Services Therapists work with the most acute youth in Pinellas County. This program focuses on children at risk of out-of-home placements. Our goal is to keep kids in their homes where they are safest and most likely to thrive. With a small caseload, we provide in-home services multiple times a week for 3 months. The goal is to build supportive families and healthy homes.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree required in Mental Health and Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
Registered Intern:
Registered (or eligible to become registered) in the state of Florida as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern, or a Registered Marriage & Family Therapy Intern is required. Licensure (LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW) is preferred.
Two years of professional experience in providing services to persons with behavioral health disorders.
Therapist responsibilities include:
Provide evidence-based mental health treatment to clients either in person or via telehealth within client’s homes.
Provide therapeutic services for youth experiencing suicide risk, aggression, self-harm, risky sex behaviors, substance use, and other severe mental illness symptoms.
Complete mental health and psychosocial assessments as part of the diagnostic evaluation.
Conduct intakes, treatment planning, and individual and family psychotherapy services to diverse populations.
Provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy, as needed.
Complete and maintain documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide crisis intervention, as necessary.
Collaborate with community partners and other agency programs.
Participate in supervision, staffings, and team meetings.
On-call rotation, including responding via phone or Zoom to families in crisis.
Must be available at least 3 evenings a week, Monday through Friday.
Maintains productivity level in accordance with agency standards.
Other job duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Work is primarily in client homes and in the community, with travel between locations. Schedule includes evenings and may be irregular based on client availability. Exposure to heat and humidity during summer months.
Job Requirements
Must be 21 years of age.
Must have a negative drug screening prior to hire and throughout employment.
Must pass a Criminal Background Check, local checks, and DCF Level II Background Screening prior to hire and annually. Must be in compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character.
Must have valid Florida Driver’s License and pass motor vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance.
Exposure to extreme heat and humidity during the summer months. Schedule may be irregular, based on client availability.
Computer literate.
Work is primarily off site in client family homes and community locations.
