Overview

Practice setting: inpatient acute/ICU/SNF care and outpatient PT services
Travel assignment with independent clinical responsibilities in a rural island environment
Responsibilities
Conduct PT evaluations and deliver treatments for inpatients (acute, ICU, SNF) and outpatients, designing individualized plans of care
Manage mobility progression and discharge planning across the inpatient and outpatient continuum
Provide PT services in emergency department, ICU, and medical/surgical settings, with occasional involvement in obstetric‑related cases
Maintain thorough documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans, and communicate with the interdisciplinary care team
Schedule management: outpatient sessions typically 30–45 minutes, with 1‑hour new evaluations; anticipated caseload may range from 5 to 15 patients per day
Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to evidence‑based practice throughout all care activities
Demonstrate independence and adaptability in a rural island setting, including coordination of care across care environments and discharge planning
Requirements
Hawaii Physical Therapy license required; ability to obtain promptly if not currently licensed
Experience delivering PT in mixed inpatient and outpatient settings with mobility progression and discharge planning knowledge
Ability to work across diverse care areas, including acute/ICU/SNF and occasional obstetric‑related scenarios
Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to manage a varied schedule; Saturday coverage may be required
Must be able to work independently in a fast‑paced, multifaceted clinical environment
