Recreation Therapy Aide - Behavioral Health - Weekends

The campus includes a 145‑bed hospital dedicated to children and adolescents, a 50‑bed adult inpatient facility, and a supportive, healing environment in Savannah, Georgia.

Responsibilities
As a Recreation Therapy Aide, you’ll play an active role in enhancing patients’ quality of life by creating and leading engaging, therapeutic recreation programs alongside Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists.

Design and lead a dynamic recreation therapy program, including fitness, creative arts, outdoor activities, community outings, and special events such as birthdays, holidays, and graduations; create engaging weekly activity schedules that inspire participation.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across Medicine, Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, and Therapy to ensure recreation services are well‑coordinated and integrated into patient care.

Participate in treatment team meetings and therapeutic groups, contributing to care planning while building strong partnerships with community organizations to expand patient opportunities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.

At least one year’s experience working with emotional and behavioral disorders with children, adolescents, and/or adults.

Experience in an inpatient setting preferred.
