
Advanced Practice Clinician - Urgent Care - Full Time

Job Description
The NP/PA will evaluate and manage medicine patients within an outpatient/ambulatory setting for acute and chronic conditions, in addition to preventive and wellness assessments for patients of all ages. Details regarding the specific scope of practice will be completed within the practice agreement/practice protocol signed between the NP/PA and the Collaborating Physician.
Education
Graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of Physician Assistants (ARC-PA) OR Graduate of a nationally accredited school of nursing with Bachelors in nursing and Masters Degree in advanced practice nursing.
Experience
Previous community health and wellness services experience desired. Prior experience in an office setting for one year in primary care or emergency care is preferred.
Certification & Licensure
Unrestricted license to practice as a PA or an NP in Virginia.
Unrestricted DEA license to prescribe in Virginia.
Proof of CME requirements as required by the Virginia Board of Medicine.
PA board certified by NCCPA OR NP board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner OR dual boarded as Adult/Gerontological and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care.
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Qualifications
Thoroughly familiar with the principles and practice of a PA or NP.
General knowledge of the operation and administration of a medical office.
Well-developed interpersonal skills to work smoothly and productively with patients, administrative, nursing, and physician staff.
Ability to perform independent evaluation or treatment of a patient’s medical condition.
Willingness to receive additional training as needed and remain current on necessary skills.
Knowledge of principles of growth and development over the lifespan, ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, and interpret appropriate information for patients served.
Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
