Lead Electric Motor Mechanic

to join our Pomona service center. This is not just another shop role — this is an opportunity for a seasoned professional to take ownership of complex repairs, mentor the next generation, and play a key role in delivering high-quality, mission‑critical equipment back to our customers.

What You’ll Do

As a senior member of the team, you’ll be trusted to lead complex repairs, guide others, and ensure top‑tier workmanship:
Diagnose, repair, and rebuild a wide range of

AC/DC motors and electro‑mechanical equipment
Perform

advanced troubleshooting

across mechanical and electrical systems
Execute and oversee

dynamic balancing

of rotors and armatures
Conduct

vibration analysis (Level 1+)

and interpret results to drive repairs
Operate and mentor others on

specialized testing equipment , including surge and megger testing
Lead

tear‑down, inspection, and rebuild processes

with a focus on quality and efficiency
Provide

hands‑on leadership, coaching, and training

to mechanics and apprentices
Ensure all work meets EMC’s

quality and safety standards
Support and occasionally lead

field service projects , including equipment removal and installation
Identify opportunities to

improve processes, reduce downtime, and increase shop efficiency
What Sets You Apart

We’re looking for a professional who has both technical expertise and leadership:
Proven experience repairing

industrial electric motors and rotating equipment
Strong understanding of

electrical theory and motor design
Skilled with precision tools:

micrometers, calipers, dial indicators
Experience with

overhead cranes, forklifts, and medium‑voltage testing equipment
Ability to

troubleshoot independently

and make sound technical decisions
A natural mentor who enjoys developing others and elevating team performance
High standards for

quality, safety, and workmanship
Valid driver’s license and willingness to support field work as needed
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a hands‑on role in a shop environment requiring:
Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Standing, walking, and working with tools for extended periods
Use of proper PPE and adherence to safety standards
