
Pharmacy Technician II - Fulfillment

Job Description
Responsible for the provision of distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks. This position assists the pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medications, inventory management, pharmacy billing, customer service, and regulatory compliance. The role accurately responds to prescription dispensing requests, coordinates medication access and adherence, prepares medications for pharmacist review, performs claim adjudication, and processes customer account reconciliation.
Utilizes automated dispensing systems, electronic health records, and barcode scanning to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Performs inventory receiving activities, restocking of drug shelves, rotating stock accordingly and placing drugs in appropriate assigned areas.
Assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
Actively performs pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in pharmacy specific computer systems and operational programs.
Packs prescription orders according to medication packing policy to assure no damage during shipping occurs.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to follow direction from formal management personnel and work well under direct supervision of a pharmacist. [Required]
Ability to identify, follow up and resolve discrepancies; assist in resolving pharmacy operational or program issues. [Required]
Ability to keep accurate and complete records. [Required]
Knowledge of medical terminology and vast understanding of mathematical principles to perform pharmaceutical calculations. [Required]
Knowledge of third-party pharmacy insurance providers and claims processing [Required]
Knowledge of Federal and State laws governing the practice of pharmacy and delegation of responsibilities including which tasks may only be performed by a licensed Pharmacist. [Required]
Moderate proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook [Required]
Ability to teach pharmacy technician students [Preferred]
Education
High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Work Experience
1+ of pharmacy technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill, or hospital setting [Required] OR
Completion of a pharmacy technician student internship at AdventHealth in a retail or hospital setting, in lieu of pharmacy technician experience. [Required]
Previous experience in a managed healthcare organization, medical insurance company, pharmacy benefit management or other healthcare related entity. [Preferred]
Specialty pharmacy experience [Preferred]
Licenses And Certifications
Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) [Required]
NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) [Preferred] OR PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) [Preferred]
