
Certified Medication Technician - PRN 8-hour Shifts - Rotating Days/Evenings

Qualifications
Education:
Active CMT certification required.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years supervised experience in a health care setting, working as a Certified Medical Technician preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of health care practices such as monitoring vital signs, and physical health indicators.
Knowledge of safe infection control practices.
Knowledge of correct record keeping according to agency and regulatory guidelines.
Ability to work with clients to gain confidence and cooperation.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, outside health care providers and agencies, institutions and the general public.
Ability to communicate effectively with nursing and program staff to provide competent and appropriate health care to clients.
Your Responsibilities In This Role May Include
Conduct routine vital sign and weight assessments on clients and document according to protocol.
Under direction, conduct initial intake interviews on new admissions, collecting information such as demographic data, reported medical and mental health information, and presence of referring documents and/or medication.
Communicate all information obtained to licensed nursing personnel.
Provide supervision to clients who self‑administer medications, including documentation in the medication logs.
Maintain inventory of supplies, reordering as needed.
Maintain medical/health related forms, assembling new charts and providing a supply of prepared forms as needed.
Audit medical records monthly.
Assist in scheduling all appointments with health care providers, and complete associated paperwork, such as trip logs, referral forms, etc.
Triage client health complaints/requests, communicating with nursing personnel.
Maintain CPR/First Aid certification, and provide when needed.
Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor, Director of Health Services or Program Director, and/or as identified in the Unit Unique Job Description.
Working Conditions
Required to work weekends at least once a month including one off shift per week to ensure program coverage.
May be required to work shifts outside of assigned shifts during critical staffing shortages.
The minimum holiday requirement is 1 major summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day) and 1 major winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day (night shift: New Year's Eve)). Other Holidays will be rotated amongst all staff.
This position is deemed essential and will be required to work during inclement weather.
