About the Facility
St Simons By The Sea BH is a 101-bed psychiatric and addiction disease hospital for adults and adolescents located on Saint Simons Island, Ga. The serene setting ensures privacy and anonymity, enabling patients to concentrate on recovery.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced

Cook/Dietary Aide

responsible for the preparation, presentation, delivery, and serving of nutritious and healthy food to patients and staff.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate knowledge of proper food preparation, receipt, storage, handling, and following recipes.

Prepare and serve food in quantities according to menu and portion control.

Maintain and monitor modified diets as instructed.

Use accepted techniques in handling, preparation, and serving food to clients and employees.

Receive, inspect, and properly store all supplies entering the Food Service Department.

Monitor kitchen equipment and appliances for malfunctions and report to management.

Maintain a clean environment, including utensils, floors, equipment, and storage areas.

Follow all safety procedures, including Standard Precautions, proper use of chemicals, and securing the Food Service area.

Complete all requested forms pertaining to the Food Service area.

Clean, maintain, and sanitize all equipment and surfaces to exceed health department and inspection standards.

Serve each meal to clients with a caring and professional attitude, displaying service excellence.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Prior food service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
