Job Summary and Qualifications
The registered nurse is responsible for coordinating the nursing care of assigned patients in the Unit in order to provide quality patient care to patients in applicable age specific populations (see addendum). The RN applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development. Employee is responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the appropriate age populations. According to established facility policies and procedures, the registered nurse provides and supplies professional nursing care exercising independent judgment in utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The RN provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on assigned area.

What you will do in this role

Collect and analyze data to identify expected outcomes for observation and medical/surgical patients.

Develop and prioritize the plan of care to attain measurable goals.

Implement interventions identified and evaluate results, especially in relation to critical care patients (whichever applies).

Identify educational needs, implement and evaluate learning, and document patient/family education.

Demonstrate critical thought and judgment in the delivery of care related to critical care patients.

Deliver medications based upon continual assessment, safety and evaluation of patient response.

Qualifications You Will Need

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required or must be currently enrolled.

Current RN license in Texas and/or current Compact License.

1 year current labor and delivery experience required.

Current BCLS certification required. Current ACLS and NRP certifications required.

AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course within 90 days of hire date.
