Job Description
The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOPs, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
Responsibilities
Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
Perform sample preparation, which may include, but is not limited to, the following methods:
Aliquot samples
Spike and trace samples
Prepare reagents
Bottle samples
Prepare concentrations
Separation
Sonication
Liquid rack set up
Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
Prepare general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
Wash laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
Stock laboratory supplies.
Clean work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist other laboratory areas as needed.
Ideal Candidate
General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science
Basic mathematical skills
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to learn quickly and multi-task
Work independently and within time constraints
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Basic Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience
Employment Requirements
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Professional working proficiency in English
Position is full-time Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Pensacola, FL are encouraged to apply.
Pay rate: $16/hr
