Job Summary
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high‑quality MRI exams in a timely manner while maintaining a strong understanding of MRI safety protocols, including those related to research workflows. They interact positively with multiple patient populations and serve as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team. Flexibility is essential, as the position may require on‑call availability and holiday coverage. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Perform MRI examinations.
Ensure patient safety and comfort.
Administration of contrast media.
Maintain MRI equipment and safety standards.
Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary health care team.
Document and manage patient information.
Research implantable devices for MRI compatibility.
Adhere to compliance and regulatory standards.
Assist with workflow and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Graduate from an ARRT accredited MRI educational program or an ARMRIT accredited MRI education program.
Minimum one year of MRI experience preferred.
ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT at hire (preferred) or ARRT in one of Radiography (R), Nuclear Medicine (N), Radiation Therapy (T), or Sonography (S) required; obtain ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT within 24 months of hire.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Proficient in operating an MRI scanner and adjusting imaging parameters.
Well‑versed and compliant with MRI safety and research workflow requirements.
Patient positioning & comfort while ensuring safety.
Emergency response capability.
Attention to detail.
Critical thinking and problem‑solving.
Time management.
Empathy and patient care.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
