
Cath Lab Technologist

Overview
Directly assists the physician during invasive cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and/or peripheral vascular procedures. Maintains sterile technique, is basic Arrhythmia trained, and proficient in diagnostic right and left heart catheterizations, pacemaker/ICD insertions, coronary interventions, and related procedures. Functions as a member of the Cath Lab Team to provide a safe, efficient environment and may serve as second circulator or documenter, while ensuring hemostasis and evaluating hematomas.
Responsibilities
Assist during invasive radiologic procedures and ensure proper operation, safety, and maintenance of radiologic equipment.
Prepare and position patients prior to and during procedures; assist with pre- and post-procedure patient care.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of care provided; act as a patient advocate.
Utilize resources wisely to promote physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being of patients within the cath lab setting.
Job Details and Requirements
Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits)
Typical Hours: Day Shift, Call rotation
Up to $20,000 Sign-on bonus*
Education
Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or equivalent allied health professional registry required
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or ARRT Cardiac Interventional Certification required in addition to primary registry within 18 months of employment (preferred)
Licenses/Certifications
BLS Certification – required
ACLS Certification – required
Experience
Prior Cath Lab or Radiology experience – preferred
Knowledge & Skills
Good organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Basic computer skills
