Job Description Summary
The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with all members of the infusion team to enhance the environment of patient-focused infusion care and demonstrates a commitment to quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Meet the intent and comply with the Practice Agreement with Medical Director.
Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Provide medical care including screenings, interventions, counseling, and patient education; perform comprehensive physical examinations and manage therapy side effects.
Participate in the clinical review process of new referrals for appropriateness of therapy and infusion center setting.
Establish rapport, when appropriate, with referring providers/physicians.
Prescribe medications to patients as needed for use in the infusion center.
Prepare patients for infusion or injection and deliver infusions or injections in accordance with prescribed protocols and organization guidelines.
Administer IV infusion, IM, SC therapy; oversee the patient during the infusion process.
Oversee the IMC nurse and any other clinical staff to ensure safe and efficient treatment for all patients.
Ensure patient care is documented in the electronic health record. Establish Evaluation and Management documentation on each patient at the start of therapy or as otherwise appropriate.
Openly communicate with medical director and referring/prescribing providers regarding order clarification, patient status, and plan of care.
Recognize adverse reactions requiring referral to local emergency department and communicate promptly with medical director, referring physician, and emergency department when appropriate. Supervise prompt transfer of patients as needed.
Assist in keeping the IMC clean and disinfected between patient use.
Assist and maintain medical inventory and supplies.
Requirements
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current Nurse Practitioner certification and license in South Carolina.
Current BLS CPR certification.
Professional Liability Insurance.
Clinical experience as a registered nurse and/or nurse practitioner.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Proficient IV skills and previous experience administering IV infusion therapy.
Initiative, creativity, problem-solving ability, adaptability, and flexibility.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Willingness to take on non-clinical (administrative, marketing) and clinical tasks, as necessary and as part of a small team, for the efficient and effective operation of a small company.
Excellent clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
Meets ADA requirements for the position.
Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:
Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Pay Range is $97,113.10 - $161,862.67.
