Position Summary
Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the assigned area or office. Reports to the Director of Physician Services.
Essential Functions
Under the supervision of physicians or nurses, assists with patient assessments and treatments.
Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors and communicates changes in patient condition; documents patient care provided.
Maintains equipment and supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting; maintains examination areas.
Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Patient Populations Served
Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
Exposure
Regular occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Not responsible for supervising employees.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
High School Diploma or equivalent, or combination of education and experience required for the job.
BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation.
Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Business mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting graphs.
Foundational computer skills: frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and basic graphics.
Foundational communication: simple oral messages, brief written messages, and simple record keeping; ability to explain routine procedures.
Routine business problem solving following clear directions and procedures.
Job‑specific impact: decisions generally affect own job or assigned functional area.
Foundational judgment: use existing practices and guidelines; works closely with supervisors/manager.
Foundational planning/organization: prioritize assigned and routine tasks; handle appropriately.
HIPAA: basic understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance; knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practice.
Physical and Mental Demands
Occasional standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, using hands to manipulate objects, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching or crawling; occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. Repetitive upper‑body motion required for extended computer use. Requires specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment and Travel Requirements
Well‑lit, ventilated, climate‑controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts.
