Visa Information
TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
Position Description
This position assists in the overall operation of the Unit Medication Room and distributes patients’ medications from filled prescriptions.
Major/Essential Functions
Required Qualifications
This is a part-time, on-call position.
Delivers and administers patients’ ordered and prescribed medications.
Within the scope of the specific credential of the team member, will support clinical activities in the health facility under the direction of the facility director and nurse management.
Actively participates in all assigned training related to the Medication Aide Program.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Must complete the assigned training program within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a pharmacy technician and active registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) (or in process of registration) via passing the national certification exam.
Prior experience in medication administration, as a medication aide, or similar.
