Job Summary
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) performs patient‑related activities to maximize independence and maintain health for individuals limited by physical injury, illness, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, developmental or learning disability, or adverse environment.
Major Duties and Critical Tasks
Assist the occupational therapist when performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
Observe, record, and report to the therapist the condition, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.
Assisting the therapist in consulting with patients, family members, and other health‑care professionals as appropriate.
Assist with the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment.
Assist the occupational therapist with in‑service programs and other meetings as assigned.
Education and Experience
Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification, high school diploma/GED required, strong interpersonal skills.
