Responsibilities
Provides general Medical Assistant assistance to Cardiology physicians in an outpatient setting within the hospital or Hub Sites. The staff member demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served and competently applies these principles when providing individualized care.
Front Desk and back office support for Cardiology Providers. Position is 80%-90% back office with some front office support when needed. Front office duties include patient check‑in, verifying insurance requirements (referrals/authorizations), collecting co‑pays, and scheduling visits, testing, and procedures. The staff member may be required to cover other sites within Mercy.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma or GED; a minimum of one year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
License Requirements: N/A.
Certification Requirements: CPR preferred.
Age Specific Care Provided For: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include:
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
Meditech and Epic system usage (if applicable).
Performance Manager/NetLearning.
English language proficiency.
Ability to work independently and make independent decisions.
Effective communication with personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
Flexibility, personal integrity, and teamwork.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Travel to satellite offices may be required.
Salary
USD $18.66 per hour (min) – USD $30.79 per hour (max).
