Position Overview

About You

Responsibilities
Assist the nursing staff in maintaining the flow of patients and families through the peri‑operative area, and even more so in the PACU.
Be responsible for keeping these areas stocked and clean so all essential equipment for patient care is readily available and orderly.
Escort patients to the preoperative area and obtain patient’s medical history, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart.
Escort families to the recovery unit when the nurse requests them, and escort patient and family to their vehicle/elevator upon discharge.
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma/equivalent or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
Current American Heart Association issued Basic Life Support (BLS).
Preferred
Pediatric or surgery experience preferred.
Minimum of one‑year experience as a Medical Assistant.
