
Recreational Therapist - St Elias Specialty Hospital

Job Overview
Under the general direction of the Rehabilitation Services Manager, the Recreational Therapist plans, directs, and coordinates recreation programs for patients with disabilities or illnesses to assist in maintaining or improving physical and emotional well‑being.
The Therapist works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including clinicians, rehab nurses, and physicians to create the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities
Plan, direct, and coordinate recreational therapy programs for patients with disabilities or illnesses.
Collaborate with other clinicians, nurses, and physicians to plan individualized therapeutic recreation services.
Maintain a professional, respectful, and courteous demeanor with patients, families, staff, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited Recreational Therapy program.
National Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification) upon hire.
National Provider BLS (American Heart Association) upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 6 months of experience as a Recreational Therapist.
