Description
Tender Touch Therapy is seeking caring and experienced Respite Provider to join our team. Our respite providers are responsible for overall care and well‑being of our clients, ensuring a fun and safe environment for them to learn and grow. We serve a wide variety of special needs including autism, ADHD, anxiety, speech, and cognitive delay. These clients thrive on mentorship, social involvement, coaching and positive attention.
Our respite providers can work alongside a multi‑disciplinary clinic with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists who support this individual. We provide children and adults with a fun and motivational environment including a large gym area with toys, books and games to help them in the areas of strength, movement, sensory processing, communication, positive behavior modification, social interactions, and self‑care skills.
After‑school/Evening Hours
We are specifically looking for after‑school/evening hours respite workers, hours around 3 pm–6 pm.
Duties
Lead activities and games for clients of varying ages and abilities
Maintain a safe and healthy environment, including ensuring the cleanliness and organization of living spaces and facilities
Provide one‑on‑one support for the clients
Build strong relationships with clients, staff, and families through open communication and positive reinforcement
Consistently offer the highest level of personalized service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and helpful attitude
Physical Demands
Requires a wide range of constant physical activities, including but not limited to sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching
Requires good vision (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception)
Frequent exposure to and use of household cleaning products
Occasional exposure to blood or other bodily fluids
Skills
Enthusiasm to work with all children and adults, with all abilities
Experience working with children and/or adults, preferably in an educational, childcare/adult care setting, or special‑needs experience
Strong knowledge of early childhood or adult development
Ability to supervise clients and ensure safety, mental and physical wellbeing of campers
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
