
Mental Health Technician

We are seeking a compassionate
Mental Health Technician
in Intake to join our team. As the first point of contact for many of our patients, you will play a crucial role in facilitating a smooth, welcoming, and safe admission process. This position involves performing initial intake tasks, obtaining vital signs, ensuring patient safety, and assisting with documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Intake & Admission: Assist with the admission process, including greeting new patients, assisting with paperwork, and orienting them to the facility.
Clinical Data Collection: Obtain and record vital signs, monitor nutritional intake, and document patient behaviors/indicators of mental/behavioral status per policy.
Safety & Security: Conduct safety checks (15-minute rounds), monitor patient behavior, and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
Support & Care: Provide direct, compassionate care to patients with acute mental health conditions (bipolar, schizophrenia, etc.).
Collaboration: Work closely with the nursing and clinical staff to communicate changes in patient status.
This is a PRN/on-call position to help fill gaps in coverage. Day shift and night shifts are available, either 7:00am - 7:30pm and/or 7:00pm - 7:30am.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience in a behavioral health setting or residential treatment facility preferred.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and crisis intervention skills; previous experience with therapeutic limit-setting.
Certifications: Current BCLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain).
Background: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
