Workover Rig Floorhand-SSE (CDL Holder)

Summary
A Workover Rig Floorhand‑Trainee is an inexperienced individual responsible for learning and performing all activities conducted on the workover rig floor. The role involves training on a rig, learning to pick up and lay pipe, assist in maintenance, and operate equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Work with a three to five person crew performing maintenance and repairs on oil & gas wells

Participate in training on the rig for 2 to 3 weeks to learn and perform the essential duties of a floorhand

Learn to pick up/lay pipe and latch tubing in elevators

Assist in loading and off‑loading pipe and other items

Assist in daily maintenance on the workover rig

Learn to manage tools on the workover rig floor

Assist with rigging up and rigging down the workover rig

Operate the mud pump, pipe wranglers, mix fluids, and perform equipment upkeep

Pass 60‑day, 90‑day, and 180‑day written exams and evaluations

Understand and apply all completed course/training materials, policies, and procedures

Demonstrate ability to perform job responsibilities and graduate on time from the training program

Work in the shop or assist in NDES yard maintenance when necessary

Assist in repairs and prepare the workover rig for deployment when necessary

Attend and participate in daily and monthly safety meetings

Comply with company, customer, and health & safety policies and regulations

Report incidents immediately to Rig Supervisor

Work in all weather conditions

Perform other duties as directed by management

Lift 75 lbs. and handle physically demanding work

Communicate using oral and basic written communication

Pass pre‑employment drug & alcohol screening and participate in the random testing pool

Pass a background check and motor vehicle record check

Arrange reliable transportation to and from work

Qualifications

Work Environment
This job operates in an outside environment. The role routinely works in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, wind, rain, etc.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full‑time position that typically works a 14‑day on/7‑day off rotation once released from the training rig. The position regularly requires long hours and weekend work (including holidays) as job duties demand.

Licenses & Certifications
Class A or B CDL

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Previous workover experience preferred
