Competitive Pay:
This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $33/hr to $40/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.
What You'll Do
Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain shop machinery
Calculate dimensions and tolerance using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and veneer calipers
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, machines and materials onto machines
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders
Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments
Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on shop equipment
Continued education and training to meet the needs of an evolving service industry.
Capable of working independently with little to no supervision.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
What You'll Need
High school diploma or GED required; Technical diploma in related area of study, such as Precision Machining, preferred.
4+ Years of manual machining experience
Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment
Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines.
Ability to interpret technical manuals.
Industrial shop environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and cutting fluids
Requires standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and manual dexterity
Availability to work shifts outside of normal work schedule, including required OT on weekends and holidays.
Proficient computer skills (MS Office; Outlook, Excel and Word) and ability to operate windows-based programs from a tablet, computer, or smartphone.
